On 14th July morning, i woke up at 6.30am and start to prepare myself for the first concert with Jubilate chamber choir which conduct by my music teacher, Ian Higginson. In 8.30am, Ian and his wife Janine come and pick me and Yvonne, my china friends from the chapel i used to play piano and learn music there. We begin our journey to oxford. It takes us for about an hour to reach the bus station where they pick us up and travel to oxford. (Park and Ride) Its about 2 pound 40 for go and return. When we reach there, we start to walk into a high street which go towards Oxford Christ Church Cathedral.We went to look at the place where choir seats and its really nice. After that, we went to the place we are going to sing and start our practice and there are loads and loads of visitors sitting and standing there listen to us singing. Some of them even record and took photos of us. At the mean time, my leg start to feel pain as i have wear the high heels shoes which is about 3 inches high and walk for quite a long distance since from the bus station. But, the practice went smoothly and 8 minutes before the concert start, which is at (1 o' clock the concert start), we are giving a place to put our things and we went into the priory room which only could access by us and put our things there. I then take off my shoes to rest a while and wear back when we need to go to the concert place again.
The concert start and the first songs i sung, i did the mistake with singing the second alto part as i am first alto, there are also few parts where i did mistake during the concert within 11 songs we are presenting. People comes and goes pass by us and some of them take photos and videos of us. Ian was playing the Piano and also conducting us which i think it is really amazing and very good. My friend are helping him by stopping the paper to fall down. The piano he used was the world 2nd best piano which only i know afterward and other choir will not allowed to use the piano.
After finishing our concert, we went into the priory room again and only janine and Ian told me that lots of the events going on through that place. We then also went to the souvenir shop. when we are making our way out, only i know that part of the Harry Potter movie were also filmed in this church. Before we went out, Ian brought us up to the organ again and we took some photos there.
We then went to have our lunch at about 4pm and i've had a battered fish and chips and profiterols and ice cream for my dessert. The taste of the fish was really watery and its really big. But, the profiteroles were really nice. After, we have our lunch, we get to the bus and went back.
In the evening, i' ve invited Ian and Janine to my house for dinner. Yvonne has helped me in making fried rice which include with carrot, green beans, cauliflower and broccoli, egg and also the small onion and garlic. I've overcooked it >.< But overall it is still fine. When both of them reach, they brought loads of english dessert and we are thinking that we might get really full after all that. The food they bought has included lemon meringue, apple and blackcurrant pie, custard, rice pudding, males and females ginger bread man, jelly and also scones ^^ which is really a typical english traditional dessert.
I am really grateful that they have finish the rice and have more. We also have a great chatting time with them which was totally different from what i thought it will be looks like. Anyway, it was a really happy and enjoyable saturday and i have experience a lots of first time in a day with also the uniform for jubilate and using the choir file and of course singing with them.
